FAQs
Q: When do you operate teams?
Answer: The Feeder Basketball season runs from November through late February or early March. Tryouts will happen in October.
Q: How are teams constructed?
Answer: As numbers and skill levels allow, we aim to form two teams per grade level, with 10–12 players per team.
Q: How practices and games can I expect?
Answer: Over the course of a season we aim for 25-30 practices per team, dependent on gym availability. 4th grade teams will participate in around 20-25 games, while 4th-8th grade teams will play in 25-30 games.
Q: What is the cost of a season?
Answer: The cost can change from season to season and is impacted by numerous factors. Our base fee for the 2024/2025 season was $575 (4th-8th grade teams) and included all practices, games, and a shooting shirt or t-shirt. Uniforms and practice jerseys are an additional cost for 5th-8th graders, as they may be used over multiple seasons.
Q: Can my child play up a grade?
Answer: No. We strongly believe it is in the best interest from a social, emotional, and developmental standpoint for all feeder participants to play with piers in their grade.
Q: What if I have conflicting activities during the season?
Answer: We understand that families have many commitments outside of basketball. If your player will need to miss a practice or game, please let your coach know as soon as possible so the team can plan accordingly.
We value multi-sport athletes and the benefits that come with diverse experiences. At the same time, our winter season is when our players grow together as a team. Prioritizing basketball (over out-of season activities) during this time helps build consistency, chemistry, and shared progress—giving every player and the team the best chance to succeed.
