About LZFBA
Founded in 2025, the Lake Zurich Feeder Basketball Association builds on decades of community basketball tradition. By bringing together the long-standing boys’ program (LZ Hoops, est. in 2002) and girls’ program (Jr. Bears, est. in 1993), we’ve united under one organization to provide exceptional opportunities for local athletes.
Our focus remains on providing community-based skill development and competitive play, preparing our players for success both on and off the court.
Our Mission
We are a volunteer-led, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to offering basketball skill development and competition for elementary and middle school students residing within Lake Zurich High School District 95. Our mission is to help each player grow physically, mentally, and socially—building confidence, teamwork, and resilience that will serve them well in basketball and in life.
Our Philosophy & Values
Community First – We believe in the power of Lake Zurich boys and girls playing together from a young age, building chemistry and teamwork that carry through to high school competition.
Effort Above All – We coach effort, knowing that consistent hard work and attention to fundamentals lead to success over time.
Developing the Whole Player – We focus not only on physical skills but also on the mental and social aspects of the game, helping players become strong, adaptable teammates and leaders.
Game-Like Learning – Our practices feature drills and scenarios that mirror real game situations. We challenge players to think creatively, make quick decisions, and truly understand how to play the game—not just memorize plays.
