LZ Hoops (Boys) Registration
Fall 2026 Preseason Development Sessions
LZFBA is excited to once again partner with Mike Kolze and Austin Scott (former Lake Zurich basketball standouts and current members of the LZHS Varsity Coaching Staff) for our Fall Preseason Development Sessions, assisted by members of the Girls Varsity Team.
This year, boys and girls (3rd–8th grade) will train together as future LZ Basketball players. Each session will focus to sharpen fundamentals of the game—shooting, passing, ball-handling, offensive and defensive concepts. Drills and instruction will be tailored to age and skill level.

3rd,4th,5th Grade: 6:00-7:20pm
6th,7th,8th Grade: 7:30-8:50pm
Cost
$80 for all 4 sessions
$50 for 2 sessions

1st-3rd Grade: 2026-2027 LZ Hoops Skills Academy
Train and sharpen your game! This program focuses purely on skill-building rather than competitive games or official team play. Players will join either the LZ Hoops Academy (boys) or the Jr. Bears Academy (girls).

Time: Generally 6:00-7:00pm
Dates: Late October through late January
Frequency: 2 practices per week (subject to schedule availability)

2026-2027 Season Tryouts
Boys are required to attend at least one tryout to be considered for placement, but strongly encouraged to attend both.

Tryouts will be held at Lake Zurich High School.

4th,5th Grade: 6:10-7:30pm
6th,7th,8th Grade: 7:40-8:50pm
Cost
There is no cost to attend tryouts.
SEASON FEES
4th: $595 (includes uniform and practice jersey)
5th-8th: $595 ($100 Uniform package is an additional cost - optional for returning players)
- Uniform $80, Practice Jersey $20
- Returning players may reuse last year’s
- New players will be required to purchase both.
Plan to arrive a few minutes early from your scheduled time. Bring a water bottle and an indoor basketball to use.
Each season LZ Hoops typically forms 2 teams per grade level (based on numbers, gym space, and coaching availability) placing talent to best ensure appropriate competition level and player success.
- Registration is required (no walk-ins).
- There is no fee for tryouts.
- Please note: We never like to make cuts; however situations may arise where we cannot place every player trying out on a team.
