Jr. Bears (Girls) Registration

FALL SKILLS SESSIONS

LZFBA is excited to once again partner with Mike Kolze and Austin Scott—former Lake Zurich basketball standouts and current members of the LZHS Varsity Coaching Staff—for our Fall Skills Session, assisted by members of the Girls Varsity Team.

This year, boys and girls (4th–8th grade) will train together as future LZ Basketball players. Each session will focus to sharpen fundamentals of the game—shooting, passing, ball-handling, offensive and defensive concepts—with drills and instruction tailored to age and skill level.

TIMES

4th/5th Grade: 6-7:20pm

6th/7th/8th Grade: 7:30-8:50pm

COST

$80 for all 4 sessions (pre-registration is required, no walk-ins for any session)

1st-3rd Grade: Skill Development

Girls are required to attend at least one tryout to be considered for placement, but encouraged to attend both.

Location, Dates, & Times

Locations: TBD

Time: Generally 6-7pm (2x/week as schedule allows)

Dates: Practices will begin towards the end of October and run to the end of January.

This is skill development practice only. No official teams or games with other programs will be scheduled.

4th-8th Grade: 2025/2026 Season Tryouts

Girls are required to attend at least one tryout to be considered for placement, but encouraged to attend both.

COST

There is no cost to attend tryouts.

SEASON FEES

4th Grade: $575 (includes uniform and practice jersey)

5th-8th: $575 + $100 Uniform package (optional for returning players)

Uniform $80, Practice Jersey $20
Returning players may reuse last year’s
New players will be required to purchase both.

Plan to arrive a few minutes early from your scheduled time. Bring a water bottle and an indoor basketball to use.

Jr. Bears typically forms 1-2 teams per grade level (based on numbers, gym space, and coaching availability) placing talent to best ensure appropriate competition level and player success.

Registration is required (no walk-ins)
There is no fee for tryouts.
Please note: We never like to make cuts; however situations may arise where we cannot place every player trying out on a team.
